Olwen Foulkes - Recorders

Olwen is a recorder player, curator and educator with a love of eighteenth-century chamber music. Olwen has released multiple solo CDs and she performs with ensembles including the Academy of Ancient Music, London Handel Players, and Dunedin Consort. In 2019 she founded chamber music group Ensemble Augelletti who are current BBC New Generation Baroque Ensemble and City Music Foundation Artists.

Olwen is a Co-Artistic Director of Brighton Early Music Festival and she was selected as one of the new REMArkable network in 2025. She has a research focus on the early eighteenth-century London music scene and she is a Curator at Handel Hendrix House and an Academic Lecturer at the Royal Academy of Music. She has 10 years of experience working as a primary school classroom music teacher and workshop leader.
